What is an agent pitch and how do they work?
If your goal is to be traditionally published, you first need to score a literary agent. To do that, you’ll need to pitch your work to them in such a way that they NEED to read your book! We’ll prepare you by showing exactly how to do that. Then, you’ll get to live pitch your book to two of our agents!
Because these two 10-minute pitches are included with your admission, you’ll receive an email after your purchase with instructions on how to schedule your agent pitches.
Can I schedule additional agent pitches?
Not at this time, but we will open up additional agent pitches for purchase if there is time for them! We’ll email an announcement to all registered attendees about this availability.
How do I submit my first 5 pages for the special critique?
Add this a la carte service to your cart when purchasing your general admission. After checkout, please email your pages (as a Word doc) directly to Amanda@AmandaFilippelli.com with the subject line 5 PAGE CRITIQUE.
What is the Authorpreneur Guide©?
The Authorpreneur Guide© is Amanda Filippelli’s proprietary guide to becoming a working author. You will receive a digital download version upon registering for the Authorpreneur Conference. In it, you’ll find resources, templates, and a wealth of information that can help you throughout your journey as a working author.
Am I required to talk or be seen on camera during the virtual conference?
No. Never. Absolutely not. We’re introverted writers. Don’t be ridiculous.
But if you want to keep your video on, we’d love to see your face! And you’re always welcome to participate in every single session.
I want to present during the Storytelling Sessions. What do I do?
Heck yeah you do! Send an email to Amanda@AmandaFilippelli.com with the subject STORYTELLING SESSION and include the piece you’d like to present plus a brief bio about yourself.
Do you provide refunds?
We cannot provide any refunds for general admission, additional agent pitches, or for the first 5-page critique.
Can I request special accommodations?
If you require any special accommodations at all, please email Amanda@AmandaFilippelli.com with your needs and we will do everything we can to meet those needs. You can also trust in our unwavering commitment to confidentiality.
I heard you provide young writers admission scholarships. Is that true?
Correct! If you or someone you know is a young writer looking to jumpstart your passion by attending this conference, please email Amanda@AmandaFilippelli.com with a brief bio of your nominee, their age, and a sample of their writing. We choose TEN young writers to gift free admission to. BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
