What We’re About

Accessibility. Transparency. Community.

A NOTE FROM AMANDA

As a writer, editor, and book coach, I’ve long envisioned a better way for writers to support themselves using their craft, while acknowledging that an active writing practice is good for our mental health. In that pursuit, I’ve spent my career creating a one-stop shop for writers who want to be working authors, providing everything from content creation to production and design to publishing and marketing tools. Because your dreams should be attainable. Yes, working authors do exist. Yes, there is a path to your success, and it shouldn’t cost you a paycheck.

ACCESSIBILTY

Here are some questions. Why does every writers conference cost $3982759.49? Who decided the knowledge at these conferences is so sacred that barely any writers can afford it? Why do you have to pay to pitch an agent in-person when you can do it over email for free? Why doesn’t the ticket price include lunch? Why does it cost so much to not be a starving artist?

I spent the first half of my career attending writers conferences across the country, and while they were (sometimes) informative, they were boring. Great people. Lame hotel conference rooms. Exorbitant prices. And guess what? They’re charging even more for their virtual conferences in the midst of a global pandemic. No thanks.

The Authorpreneur Conference will provide you with the same knowledge and information as every other writers conference PLUS some (seriously, check out our schedule). You also get 2 free agent pitches with admission.

Your dreams should be affordable.

TRANSPARENCY

As a book coach, I’ve spent my career building a unique one-stop shop for writers where they can find professional guidance from content creation to production and design through publishing and book marketing. The Authorpreneur Conference won’t be any different! Bring your questions - all of them.

With purchase of admission, you will receive the Authorpreneur Guide©, which contains the details of my personal book coaching program, helping writers become working authors, whether they choose to self-publish their book or seek out traditional publishing.

How to become a working author shouldn’t be a secret.

COMMUNITY

Tired of being talked at? Want to find your tribe of like-minded writers? Want to showcase YOUR writing at THIS conference?

Every attendee will have the opportunity to schedule a time during our Storytelling Sessions to take the (virtual) stage and read us their work. You can tell us a story, The Moth style, or recite a piece of prose, or read us a poem, or show us that secret performance dance you developed in quarantine. We’re here for all of it. We’re here to support you, and to spread the word about you!

Being a working artist shouldn’t be lonely.
